Your week(s) at Atelier Kreacja

Atelier Kreacja is a studio of ceramics and glass, created step by step by a fugitive from Warsaw, for 3 years now. You will find us in a countryside called Gorzanowice in Kaczawskie Foothills (Sudeckie Foothills), Land of Extinct Volcanoes, a   distance of an hour by car from Wroclaw (Breslau).  We speak English, French, good Italian, and we can communicate in basic Spanish.

For our weekly ceramic and glass plain air workshops, You will arrive most probably on Sunday evening, and after a chance to settle in, tea and cake, maybe a short walk, we will all dine together After breakfast (Mon to Saturday) you will walk for your workshop next to the house, returning for late lunch.

In the afternoon you are free to go for a walk to see wonderful landscapes and nature, higher mountains accessible already at 30 min, or 30 km from here, or other touristic attractions, and people to visit. You may also spend your time at Atelier Kreacja, maybe reading a book in the gardens, or visiting surroundings on a bike. Access to workshop in the afternoon is open to practice the pottery wheel individually too.

In Atelier Kreacja, there are leaving free 6 cats and 2 dogs (beagles) with us, as were as some rare species of birds, and squirrels. This place and its countryside has a wonderful panorama on Bolkow medieval castle and Sudety mountains too.

We are interested in permaculture and are developing this project step by step every year in order to have fresh vegies, fruits, and herbs from our garden.

Dinner might be served each evening depending on our agreement, in the garden, or in house, subject to the weather.

On Friday we will consider going to Boleslawiec, beautiful village with several local pottery shops as well as nearly located Glass Manufacture “Borowski”.

We recommend also Huta Szkla Jullia to visit as well as  many other interesting curiosities and people, often artists, locally.  We might eat in a local restaurant on Friday, if we decide to go out.

Alternatively on Friday/Saturday, we propose Raku firing in the gardens of Atelier Kreacja.

Your fired masterpiece will be ready to pack to take home on Saturday noon.

The week after 11th of July, we start artistic glass workshop and I would like you to stay to benefit out of this offer, or continue relaxing in pottery workshop individually (same price for a week)

Accommodation:

Atelier Kreacja has at the moment 5 bedrooms with shower located in an old and continuously renovated 150 years old house, made in stone and brick. Two of them are single rooms.

There is ground floor with old ceramic kitchen and comfortable lounge. We ry keeping original character of a XIX house and right now we are renovating an old stage for you to give back this space in July for our guests, in addition.

The kitchen has a large table and chairs, and we will use the dining table in the lounge for any indoor meals to socialize, exchange, and learn from each other.

​Travel: Driving from Western Europe or Germany is very easy thanks to good network of motorways connected in Poland with A4 and S3 motorways leading to Bokow from Jedrzychowice and then 3 km to Gorzanowice located on a top of expired volcano.

 

Bolkow, located in Pogorze Kaczawskie, is a medieval city with a unique Castle and you have a panorama from our place.

Driving gives you the advantage of being able to take any size piece of work home easily, and the freedom to explore the area in the afternoons.

Flying: we may collect you from Wroclaw airport (an hour from us) on Sunday but you may have to spend a little time at the airport if we have guests coming in on different flights. There is a cafe. However, there is a cheap and direct bus running between Bolków and Wroclaw from Central Station in the city.

Bus or train – an option that we’d need to work out with you for collection from Bolkow, Walbrzych or Jelenia Gora station.

Remember you will need luggage space for your creation.

Please note, travel is not included in the holiday price.

Catering:

We pay attention to quality of the food we serve. Includes breakfast, lunch / dinner served with soft drinks and sometimes   wine and beer too.

There will be tea, coffee and milk in the kitchens for you to help yourselves, and a basket of fresh fruit and cake.

On workshop mornings you’ll have a short coffee break with Agata, and with Monika.

Please let us know when booking if you have any special dietary requirements, or strong dislikes.

Our creative offer is addressed to both beginners and those who are already passionate about the potter’s wheel, and ceramic sculpture.

This year instructor, polish artist Agata Marcinkowska from Mano Ceramics, is a professional ceramist, experienced in pottery and sculpture. Agata lives from the work of her hands and thanks to masterpieces she creates. Agata studied pottery and design in Poland, Itally and Germany and combines traditional arts and crafts with modern design. Today she offers high level of skills and knowledge to those who are interested to learn and develop their skills.

Our price for a week includes apart from accommodation, food and drinks:

– 26 hours turning on a potter’s wheel

– 26 hours of work on the sculpture of your own design.

-Biscuit firing in an electric kiln,

– Atelier Kreacja infrastructure in the evenings with its unique atmosphere of an art studio.

– We declare openness to your individual needs, also culinary.

While biscuit firing is included into price, glazing itself might be additionally paid for a palette of glazes available at Atelier Kreacja (Raku technique, or electric firing). We estimate it at circa 10 euro per person.
